The seamless working relationship among our professionals is part of the reason we have become the go-to fire protection and plumbing contractor in the Midwest.
We have the expertise to install fire protection and suppression systems in all types of construction, from residential homes to high-rise office buildings. We also work with industrial manufacturing companies to outfit their facilities with state-of-the-art systems.
When our clients need a job done on time and under a very specific set of rules, Valley Fire delivers.
Fire sprinkler inspection & testing
Our fire protection services are valued because periodic inspections by a qualified contractor are required by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), local fire departments and insurance carriers in order to ensure that fire protection systems provide adequate life and property protection.
Furthermore, Illinois EPA regulations require that every building’s backflow prevention assembly be inspected and certified annually. Our licensed plumbers perform this service and provide the proper certificate to governmental agencies and insurance carriers.
We typically inspect our clients’ systems in a single day on an annual basis so that disruption to their operations is minimized. Clients appreciate our “one call does it all” scheduling efficiency as well as the extraordinarily high level of service provider accountability that we provide.
In a typical fire sprinkler inspection, our NICET-certified inspectors will do the following:
- Perform main drain test to ensure proper water supply.
- Record static and residual pressures.
- Test waterflow switches to ensure proper activation of notification alarms and activation time (typically between 30-60 seconds). If the alarm sounds too quickly or slowly, they readjust the switch.
- Exercise control valves.
- Test all valve tamper switches to confirm the panel is receiving a signal upon activation.
- Make sure supervisory, local and electric alarms are operating properly.
- Check for recalled, defective or damaged sprinkler heads throughout the building.
- Inspect sprinkler system piping for external damage.
- Inspect fire department connections to ensure they meet with local fire department requirements.
- Trip-test dry pipe valves and quick-opening devices.
- Drain all dry system low points.
- Test antifreeze systems to determine freeze point.
With backflow devices, we certify and test:
- Cross-connection controls
- All backflow assemblies and RPZs
If you approve our quote, simply sign and fax it to (630) 293-4338 and we’ll schedule a convenient date and time for the inspection. After the completion of the inspection, we’ll send you copies of all reports and certifications. We’ll also send them to your local fire department and/or water department as required by law.
